“Harry Potter” franchise star Rupert Grint has joined Cherrybomb, a Belfast-set teen drama about two friends whose furious competition for a beautiful but manipulative girl has tragic consequences.
Variety says Kimberley Nixon (upcoming Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging) stars as the girl, with emerging Irish actor Robert Sheehan playing best buddy and love rival to Grint’s character.
Cherrybomb is produced by Generator Entertainment, Green Park Films and Octagon Films and is the joint debut of co-directors Glen Leyburn and Lisa Barros D’Sa from a screenplay by Daragh Carville (Middletown).
