Avengers: Doomsday fans finally know how long they’ll be sitting in theaters this December. Disney revealed the film’s runtime and premium ticket plans ahead of its highly anticipated Marvel sequel.
Avengers: Doomsday runtime arrives before Marvel opens ticket pre-sales
Disney is planning to launch premium-format ticket sales for Avengers: Doomsday on July 20, The Hollywood Reporter exclusively revealed.
The studio intends to open domestic pre-sales five months before the film hits theaters. Tickets will be available specifically for Infinity Vision screens, a large-format brand Disney recently established. The company built that designation after Warner Bros. secured exclusive IMAX bookings for Dune Part III.
The early sales window also disclosed a current runtime of 165 minutes for the sequel. That length places the film above Avengers: Infinity War at 149 minutes but below Avengers: Endgame at 181 minutes. Still, the final edit likely remains unfinished at this stage of production. A fixed screening schedule simply limits how much the duration can change before release.
Disney additionally confirmed Infinity Vision screenings for Avengers: Endgame Encore starting September 25. The original Endgame stands as the second-highest-earning film ever with $2.8 billion worldwide. Only James Cameron’s Avatar from 2009 surpassed that global total at the box office.
Pre-sales will begin shortly before Marvel takes the stage at San Diego Comic-Con on July 25. The studio is widely expected to debut the first full trailer during its Hall H panel. A simultaneous online trailer drop appears probable alongside the ticketing push. This strategy follows Universal’s approach of selling select IMAX seats for The Odyssey a year ahead.
Doomsday pits Earth’s Mightiest Heroes against Doctor Doom, portrayed by former Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. The ensemble features Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Paul Rudd, Pedro Pascal, Anthony Mackie, and Tom Hiddleston.
Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Vanessa Kirby, Simu Liu, and Letitia Wright also appear. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen join the sprawling cast. Directors Anthony and Joe Russo helm the sequel, arriving in theaters on December 18.
