Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s Box Office Projections Just Got Even Bigger

Spider-Man: Brand New Day hype is at an all-time high, with soaring pre-release buzz pointing towards a much larger box office opening than initially expected. According to the latest projections, Sony Pictures is looking at a monumental debut for its upcoming sequel, one that might even beat Spider-Man: No Way Home’s massive numbers.

What are the new Spider-Man: Brand New Day box office projections?

The latest report regarding Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s opening weekend box office projections initially pegged it at around $180-190 million. That appears to be the conservative estimate, as the movie is already on track to easily clear those early numbers. According to a fresh forecast from Box Office Pro, the film is tracking for a massive $230 to $250 domestic opening weekend. To put that into perspective, Spider-Man: No Way Home launched its historic theatrical run with $260 million back in 2021.

Grossing more than No Way Home, which was riding high on multiversal shenanigans with three Spider-Men, would be a highly impressive achievement for Sony. If these predictions come true, it would secure Brand New Day’s spot as the second-highest domestic opening for a Spider-Man film in the MCU. Unlike No Way Home, however, the upcoming film won’t be playing in IMAX theaters, which are currently being reserved for The Odyssey. Instead, Sony will be relying on other Premium Large Format (PLF) theaters, reportedly making history on some of them. Upon its release, Brand New Day will be competing against The Odyssey, Toy Story 5, Moana, and others.

As seen in the trailers, the upcoming sequel takes Peter Parker back to his street-level roots while forcing him to deal with a dangerous genetic mutation. The film pits Spider-Man against the Hulk and potentially Jean Grey, but he’ll have help from the Punisher, who is also joining the fight.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day releases in theatres on July 31, 2026.
