Henry Cavill’s Latest Netflix Sequel Conquers Streaming, Beats John Cena Comedy

Henry Cavill‘s latest film has climbed into Netflix’s streaming hits in the U.S. The mystery sequel is outperforming several high-profile titles on the platform. The latest adventure featuring Millie Bobby Brown’s young detective is drawing plenty of viewers on Netflix, even conquering John Cena’s latest comedy.

Enola Holmes 3 is dominating Netflix’s streaming charts

According to FlixPatrol, Enola Holmes 3 sits at No. 3 on Netflix’s U.S. Top 10 Movies chart. That puts it ahead of several popular titles, including John Cena’s comedy Little Brother. It also ranks above Spider-Man: Homecoming, Voicemails for Isabelle, Hunting Housewives, and other movies currently trending on the service.

This time around, Enola Holmes is back on the case with another mystery to crack as she continues stepping out of her famous brother’s shadow and building her own reputation as a detective. The films are adapted from Nancy Springer’s The Enola Holmes Mysteries books. Millie Bobby Brown returns as Enola, with Henry Cavill once again playing Sherlock Holmes. The cast also features Helena Bonham Carter, Louis Partridge, Himesh Patel, and Sharon Duncan-Brewster. Behind the camera, Philip Barantini takes over directing duties, while Legendary Pictures is producing the film for Netflix.

The series has built a loyal fan base over the years. The first Enola Holmes holds a 91% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 6.7 rating on IMDb. Enola Holmes 2 improved its critical standing with a 93% Rotten Tomatoes score and a 6.8 IMDb rating.

A big reason the franchise works so well is the balance they strike. Fans get a fun mystery to solve, plenty of lighthearted moments, and the entertaining back-and-forth between the Holmes siblings. Henry Cavill brings a warmer and more supportive version of Sherlock, while Brown’s charm and energy make Enola impossible not to root for. That winning formula seems to be still connecting with audiences, which helps explain why the sequel continues to hold onto a top spot in Netflix’s streaming charts.
