Columbia Pictures has paired with Original Films’ Neal Moritz to bring The Ark to the big screen, reports Variety.
The tale marrying the story of Noah’s Ark with a UFO crash first appeared in the anthology series “Dark Horse Presents,” the comic book that launched Frank Miller’s “Sin City.”
Mark Verheiden, creator of the Dark Horse story upon which it will be based, has been tapped to adapt it for the big screen. Dark Horse’s Mike Richardson will produce with Moritz, whose company is based at Columbia.
Verheiden previously teamed with Richardson in the creation of Dark Horse comic book “Timecop” and later adapted it into a film and TV series.
