Amy Adams Lives for a Day

Amy Adams will star opposite Francis McDormand in Focus Features’ upcoming period tale Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, reports Variety.

In the romantic tale, set in 1939, Adams will portray an American songbird who befriends a dowdy governess (McDormand) sent to her home by mistake. Based on Winifred Watson’s novel, the project will begin filming in the U.K. this week.

Bharat Nalluri, helmer of HBO mini “Tsunami: The Aftermath,” is directing.

The script was written by Simon Beaufoy (The Full Monty) and David Magee (Finding Neverland). Nellie Bellflower and Stephen Garrett are producing. McDormand and Frank Frattaroli are executive producing.

Adams next stars as the princess in Disney’s Enchanted, a live-action/CG blend, and has the lead in the comedy Sunshine Cleaning. She also co-stars in Charlie Wilson’s War for Universal.
