Todd Phillips will produce and is eyeing to direct comedy The Chadster for Warner Bros. Pictures and Alcon Entertainment, reports Variety. Michael Samonek is on board to write the script, based on his original pitch.
The story revolves around a best man who finds his position threatened when an eccentric, long-lost childhood friend shows up at the wedding, causing all sorts of trouble.
Phillips is producing through his Warners-based Todd Phillips Company. Senior VP of production Scott Budnick will executive produce.
Phillips is gearing up to direct Men for Warners, with production set to begin this fall from a script by Allan Loeb. The Todd Phillips Company also is producing Psycho Funky Chimp at Paramount/MTV Films.
