Kung Fu Panda 4 Digital Release Date Set, Includes New Short

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the Kung Fu Panda 4 digital release date for DreamWorks Animation’s latest installment to the blockbuster animated franchise. Since its theatrical debut, the Jack Black-led sequel has already garnered a worldwide gross of $410 million at the box office, which helped the Kung Fu Panda franchise achieved the rare $2 billion box office milestone.

When is the Kung Fu Panda 4 digital release date?

Kung Fu Panda 4 will be available to rent or own on digital platforms starting tomorrow, April 9, 2024, from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. For fans purchasing from participating retailers nationwide, including Apple, Fandango at Home, Comcast Xfinity, Cox, and Verizon, the digital release will include a never-before-seen animation short titled Dueling Dumplings.

“After three death-defying adventures defeating world-class villains with his unmatched courage and mad martial arts skills, Po, the Dragon Warrior, is called upon by destiny to. . . give it a rest already,” reads the synopsis. “More specifically, he’s tapped to become the Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace. That poses a couple of obvious problems. First, Po knows as much about spiritual leadership as he does about the paleo diet, and second, he needs to quickly find and train a new Dragon Warrior before he can assume his new lofty position.”

Kung Fu Panda 4 was directed by Mike Mitchell and Stephanie Ma Stine, with Rebecca Huntley serving as the producer. The film features the voices of Awkwafina, Viola Davis, Dustin Hoffman, James Hong, Bryan Cranston, Ian McShane, Ke Huy Quan, Lori Tan Chinn, Ronny Chieng, and more.
