According to Deadline, Oscar nominee Scarlett Johansson has signed on for the leading role in the upcoming crime thriller film titled, Featherwood.

The film will center around the real-life story of Carol Blevins (Johansson), “a heroin addict who become one of the FBI’s most important informants during an epic, six-year investigation into the murderous, neo-Nazi crime and drug syndicate known as the Aryan Brotherhood Of Texas,” reads the character description. “Blevins, who lived with the gang, memorized details, pre-empted murders and interrupted robberies, helped convict 13 members of the group. However, her harrowing journey left her with significant physical and mental scars and she lives under constant threat of reprisal by the ABT.”

Who’s involved in Featherwood?

Featherwood will be directed by Big Little Lies’ Andrea Arnold from a screenplay written by Ned Benson, based on Scott Farwell’s acclaimed six-part article on the Dallas Morning News. In addition to starring, the Marvel vet will also served as a producer alongside Jonathan Lia and Keenan Flynn for These Pictures banner.
