Shell Cast: Succession & The Bear Stars Join Elisabeth Moss in Psychological Thriller Movie

According to Deadline, the ten new cast members for Max Minghella’s long-in-development psychological thriller Shell have been revealed. Production on the project has already wrapped in Los Angeles.

Arian Moayed (Succession), Lionel Boyce (The Bear), Este Haim (Licorice Pizza), Ziwe (ZIWE), Amy Landecker (Transparent), Peter MacNicol (Ally McBeal), Blake Lee (Cruel Summer), Dustin Milligan (Schitt’s Creek), Peri Gilpin (Frasier), and Mary Lynn Rajskub (24) have been tapped for Minghella’s second directorial feature. They will be joining previously announced lead stars Elisabeth Moss, Kate Hudson, and Kaia Gerber. This marks Moss and Minghella’s latest collaboration after co-starring as each other’s love interests in the acclaimed Hulu drama The Handmaid’s Tale.

What is Shell about?

“In the film, struggling actress Samantha (Moss) is given an opportunity to get a free trial at Shell, a pioneering health and beauty company which promises to keep its clients looking young forever,” reads the synopsis. “Samantha’s life and career is transformed by the treatment, and she develops a burgeoning friendship with Shell’s CEO, the ultra-glamorous Zoe Shannon (Hudson). When a string of former Shell patients go missing under mysterious circumstances, including popular rising star Chloe Benson (Gerber), Samantha starts to fear she may be in danger herself.”

Shell is directed and produced by Minghella from a screenplay written by Jack Stanley, who is executive producing with Jamie Bell. Producers are Moss, Fred Berger, Brian Kavanaugh Jones, Lindsey McManus, Hal Sadoff, Norman Golightly, and Alicia Van Couvering.
