Michael Keaton & Mila Kunis Comedy Goodrich Gets Distributor

According to Deadline, Ketchup Entertainment has successfully acquired the theatrical rights to the forthcoming comedy movie Goodrich, starring Michael Keaton and Mila Kunis. The acquisition deal reportedly cost the distributor around mid-seven figures.

“We are delighted to close the deal for Goodrich” Ketchup CEO Gareth West said in a statement. “Hallie Meyers-Shyer is an incredibly talented filmmaker and has delivered a movie that has a fresh, funny take on family, with amazing performances from both Michael Keaton and Mila Kunis. We believe there is great potential to reach a broad audience with this movie and are excited to bring it to theaters in the U.S.”

What is Goodrich?

Goodrich is written and directed by Hallie Meyers-Shyer. Keaton and Kunis will be playing the father-daughter duo of Andy and Grace. This marks the Oscar nominee’s first comedy movie in long while, following 2010’s The Other Guys. The film also stars Andie MacDowell, Carmen Ejogo, Kevin Pollak, Michael Urie, Laura Benanti, Poorna Jagannathan, Vivien Lyra Blair and more.

“Set in contemporary Los Angeles during the holidays, the film tells the story of art dealer Andy Goodrich (Keaton), a man whose life is upended when his younger second wife leaves him and enters a 90-day rehab program while also threatening divorce,” reads the synopsis. “Goodrich takes charge of their nine-year-old twins, thrusting him into the world of modern parenthood for which he is deeply unprepared. With his career falling by the wayside, he leans on his grown and pregnant daughter Grace for support, and ultimately evolves into the father Grace never had.”

In addition to starring, Keaton and Kunis are also serving as executive producers along with Spider-Man: No Way Home producer Amy Pascal. It is produced by Jason Cloth and Dave Caplan for C2 Motion Picture Group along with Kevin Mann and Stay Gold Features’ Daniela Taplin Lundberg.
