James Bond Reboot Producer Gives Development Update on Next 007 Movie

Despite recent rumors spreading about the potential directors and casting for the James Bond reboot movie, it seems like it might take a while longer before fans are introduce to the Daniel Craig’s successor.

In a recent interview with The Guardian, franchise producer Barbara Broccoli has finally gave an update regarding the current status of the James Bond reboot, teasing a “big road ahead.” Contrary to previous speculations, she revealed that they “haven’t even begun” developing the next chapter of the 007 franchise, confirming that the next installment would once again reflect the world’s current period.

“Daniel gave us the ability to mine the emotional life of the character . . . and also the world was ready for it,” Broccoli said. “I think these movies reflect the time they are in, and there’s a big, big road ahead reinventing it for the next chapter and we haven’t even begun with that.”

She also revealed how long it could take to restart the franchise, adding, “Our focus is making the feature films. When we get going on a Bond movie it takes our full attention for three or four years so that’s our focus.”

James Bond Gets a Reality Series

007’s Road to a Million is a global adventure reality series where contestants will compete for the cash prize of $1.3 million. The James Bond-themed competition show was filmed in several historic locations that were featured in previous Bond films. Two-member teams will be going through a “test of intelligence and endurance,” which includes “passing physical obstacles and correctly answering questions hidden in different locations around the world in order to advance to the next challenge.”

Set to premiere on November 10 on Prime Video, the series will feature Succession’s Brian Cox as The Controller, who served as the game show’s villainous and cultured emcee. He’s described as an “enigmatic character who controls the fate of the contestants” and revels “in the increasingly difficult journeys and questions the contestants must overcome.”
