Lakeshore Records is set to release the entire soundtrack on September 15 with an original score by Mandel (Super Giant Robot Brothers, Brave). Featured performers on the album include Ridley, Marion Cotillard, Stephen Fry, Matt Berry, Sequoia Cristobal-Mandel, and more. The film will be released in theaters in the U.S. on September 15 via Blue Fox Entertainment.
Jim Capobianco is bringing the world of Leonardo Da Vinci to life in a new stylized, stop-motion puppet and 2D hand-drawn animated film for families & children of all ages. Voiced by Stephen Fry (Leonardo), Daisy Ridley (Marguerite), Marion Cotillard (Louise de Savoy), and Matt Berry (Pope X).
Discover a playful toy-like world of invention featuring flying machines, kings, queens, and sneaky spies, where nothing seems to go right for the world’s greatest inventor, and he is always running out of time. At the center of it all is the audacious and ever-questioning Princess Marguerite (Daisy Ridley), who is the key to solving Leonardo’s (Stephen Fry) quest for the meaning of life.
Notes Mandel: “Jim is an incredible filmmaker with a unique vision. It was a labor of love over a decade to help bring his Leonardo to life,” says Mandel. “One fun fact: My daughter Sequoia — who wound up singing on several songs — first sang a song at age ten, and finished her most recent vocals at age sixteen. This is a moving reminder of this long and fruitful journey we’ve taken together.”
Adds Capobianco: “Alex came on really early to write themes and work with me. Mandel first wrote Leonardo’s theme in 2012. We were working hand in hand, as I wrote the script, he worked on the music.”
