What to Expect in Sly?

Directed by Thom Zimny (Springsteen on Broadway), Sly will follow Stallone’s half-century career in Hollywood, from his underdog beginnings to his meteoric rise in becoming one of the iconic actors of his generation.

“For nearly 50 years Sylvester Stallone has entertained millions with iconic characters and blockbuster franchises, from Rocky to Rambo to The Expendables,” the Netflix synopsis reads. “This retrospective documentary offers an intimate look at the Oscar-nominated actor-writer-director-producer, paralleling his inspirational underdog-story with the indelible characters he has brought to life.”

The 77-year-old remains busy in Hollywood. In 2022, Stallone starred in the Paramount+ crime series Tulsa King, which was renewed for a second season. This past year, Stallone returned for his role as Stakar Ogord in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and headlined the Paramount+ reality series The Family Stallone starring his wife Jennifer Flavin and daughters Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet. Stallone will reprise his role as Barney Ross for Expend4bles, scheduled to release in theaters on September 22.

Sly is produced by Sean Stuart and executive produced by Braden Aftergood, Jon Beyer, Jenny Daly, Sam Delcanto, Tom Forman, and Bill Zanker.
