Captain America 4: Anthony Mackie Talks Working With Harrison Ford on MCU Sequel

Captain America star Anthony Mackie has discussed his experience of working with iconic actor Harrison Ford on Captain America: Brave New World.

What did Anthony Mackie say about working with Harrison Ford?

In an Inverse feature, Mackie revealed that he was nervous to work with Ford, to the point where he couldn’t remember his lines. The actor then notes that Ford’s “such a cool guy” and is “everything a movie star should be.”

“The first day was so intimidating,” Mackie revealed. “I was so f–king nervous I couldn’t remember my lines. He’s Harrison f–king Ford. There is this aura about him. But he dispels that really quickly because he’s such a cool guy. He’s everything a movie star should be. He would say, ‘Let’s shoot this piece of shit.’ And everybody was like, ‘Yeah, let’s shoot this shit … We spent a good bit of time together. Ross and Cap have always had that relationship, where they were friends and they respected each other, but they always bumped heads. That’s their relationship in the storyline.”

Captain America: Brave New World is directed by Julius Onah from a screenplay written by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier head writer Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson. The film features Anthony Mackie reprising his role as Sam Wilson, who has now officially taken on the mantle of the MCU’s new Captain America. He will be joined by returning Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Danny Ramirez and Carl Lumbly who are once again playing the roles of Joaquin Torres and Isaiah Bradley, respectively.

Additionally, The Incredible Hulk stars Tim Blake Nelson and Liv Tyler will also be reprising their roles as Marvel villain Samuel Sterns/Leader and Betty, 15 years after the Edward Norton-led film’s theatrical debut. New World Order will also include the introduction of MCU newcomers Harrison Ford as Thaddeus Ross and Shira Haas as Sabra, with Xosha Roquemore and Seth Rollins in undisclosed roles.
