Chris Pratt: GOTG 3’s Gamora Is ‘One of the Best-Written Characters I’ve Seen’

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 star Chris Pratt recently described the sequel’s iteration of Gamora as “one of the best written characters” he’s seen.

What did Chris Pratt say about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’s version of Gamora?

In an interview on Marvel’s own website, Pratt described Gamora’s story as “one of the more interesting arcs in the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe.” The lead noted the character’s arc will “really flip people on their heads.”

“It’s one of the best written characters I’ve ever seen, and I love the arc that she goes through in this third installment,” Pratt stated. “It will really flip people on their heads and defy their expectations as to how you should end a trilogy with two people who have been in love before.”

Viewers may remember that the Gamora seen in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is different from the character featured in previous Guardians of the Galaxy films. In Avengers: Infinity War, the original Gamora was killed by Thanos; a Gamora from a different timeline then entered the fray of Avengers: Endgame. This new Gamora — who was never part of the Guardians of the Galaxy — is the one seen in the newest Marvel Studios movie.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was once again written and directed by James Gunn. MCU vets Chris PrattZoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Sean Gunn, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel return to reprise their respective roles as Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Kraglin, Nebula, Mantis, Rocket, and Groot. Bodies Bodies Bodies star Maria Bakalova joins on as Cosmo the Spacedog.

The sequel also features the introduction of franchise newcomers Will Poulter and Chukwudi Iwuji, who portray the roles of Adam Warlock and the High Evolutionary.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is now in theaters.
