Elizabeth Olsen: Doing My Own Marvel Stunts Was a ‘Waste of Everyone’s Time’

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness star Elizabeth Olsen gave her thoughts on the process of doing her own stunts in the Marvel Studios superhero movie.

While appearing on an episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the WandaVision star reminisced on the process of doing her own stunts for the Doctor Strange sequel.

“They wanted to drop me pretty quickly so it looked like it had an impact, but I kept landing like Peter Pan … kind of like fencing … I was like, ‘Just use the double. This is so ridiculous — like, there’s a double for a reason,'” Olsen recalled. “Face replace — they do it all the time. And they used it!”

The actress was then asked by Colbert if she did every one of her character’s stunts, to which she replied:

“I didn’t do all of them, but I did most of them — which is a waste of everyone’s time, because a stunt double does it so much better.”

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was directed by Sam Raimi (Spider-Man trilogy) from a script written by Emmy winning scribe Michael Waldron (Loki). It was executive produced by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and starred Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, and Rachel McAdams. The movie is now available to watch on Disney+.
