Bruce Campbell Talks Future Evil Dead Movies, Sam Raimi Writing a Series Bible

Horror icon and series star Bruce Campbell has unveiled some details about how frequently future Evil Dead movies will be made. Not only that, but the actor revealed that series creator Sam Raimi has been working on a series bible.

While speaking with AV Club, Campbell was asked about where the Evil Dead franchise will need to go next in order to grow. He revealed that the stories will progress more now and that the team is planning to make Evil Dead movies a bit more frequently, aiming for “every two or three years” instead of every 10.

“I think the stories will progress a little more now,” Campbell said. “We’re going to try and do them more like every two or three years rather than every 10 years.”

Campbell also revealed that Sam Raimi is working with his brother, Ivan Raimi, to make a series bible that can be handed from production to production to make the movies “a little more tied in.”

“It’s also the first time Sam is working with his brother Ivan to create an overall Bible that will give future writers and directors an idea of where this thing should go next to potentially tie in some of these stories,” he explained. “So I think it’s going to get a little more tied in as the years go by. But because it’s all about the books. It could be a book in the past, a book in the future. It’s yet to be determined.”

The newest film in the series, Evil Dead Rise, was written and directed by Lee Cronin and executive produced by Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell, Robert Tapert, Romel Adam, John Keville, and Macdara Kelleher. Evil Dead Rise is currently playing in theaters.
