Fans were excited to see Cavill show up after the animated credits of Black Adam, where he appears before Dwayne Johnson’s titular character at the behest of Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller. Johnson has spoken repeatedly about his desire to see the two titans battle, which now seems to be more of a possibility than ever,
Cavill previously appeared as Superman/Clark Kent in 2013’s Man of Steel, 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, 2017’s Justice League, and 2021’s Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Given the amount of time that has passed since Justice League, fans were uncertain as to whether Cavill was still set to play the Man of Steel, making this announcement a welcome surprise for DCEU fans.
