Fox Shifts Release Dates for The Martian, Paper Towns and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

20th Century Fox has updated their release calendar, moving Ridley Scott’s next film, The Martian almost four months earlier. Previously set for March 4, 2016, the Matt Damon sci-fi project will now hit theaters on November 25, 2015. Tim Burton’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, meanwhile, will take that March 4, 2016 date, moving from July 31, 2015. Finally, the new John Green adaptation, Paper Towns, will arrive on that July 31, 2015 date.

The Martian, based on Andy Weir’s 2012 e-book publication, will star Damon as an astronaut stranded on Mars. It will face off at the box office against Disney-Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur and Jeff Nichols’ Midnight Special.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, which was recently said to have attracted the interest of Eva Green, will adapt the Ransom Riggs book. On that March 4, 2016 date, it faces a mystery film from Walt Disney Animation.

Paper Towns, finally, will open opposite Louis Leterrier’s spy comedy Grimsby, which stars Sacha Baron Cohen and Mark Strong.
