Gal Gadot Gives Wonder Woman 3 Update, Filming Timeframe

Not too much is known about the upcoming Wonder Woman 3, but in a recent interview with InStyle, actress Gal Gadot gave a brief update on the status of the highly anticipated third film.

When asked about the upcoming film, Gadot noted that the script is currently being worked on. “We’re developing the script right now. We’ll probably start in a year and a half or so,” Gadot said. Currently, not too much else is known about the third Wonder Woman film, although Warner Bros. did note last year that it would have a traditional theatrical release rather than the day-and-date release structure that Wonder Woman 1984 did.

What we do know about Wonder Woman 3 is that both Gadot and writer-director Patty Jenkins will return to the film, with Jenkins set to once again write and direct the new entry. During the DC FanDome event in October 2021, it was also revealed that actress Lynda Carter — who starred as Wonder Woman from 1975-79 in a television series — would also be in the film following her cameo role at the end of Wonder Woman 1984. Gadot has even teased Carter’s bigger role in the upcoming third installment in the past, promising that their long-awaited team-up will be “even better this time. I love her very much. I love her dearly.”

Jenkins has also hinted that Wonder Woman 3 might be her last installment with the franchise, although Gadot has not publicly commented on whether or not she would be stepping away from the character after the third film.
