Take a Look at Amy Acker as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Portland Cellist

It was revealed yesterday that Amy Acker is set for a guest appearance on the April 22 episode of “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” She’ll play Audrey, the Portland cellist that was first mentioned in Marvel’s The Avengers during a discussion between Clark Gregg’s Agent Phil Coulson and Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts. Now, Marvel has debuted the first official image of the character, and you can check it out below!

Acker, best known for playing Fred on “Angel,” has also appeared in Whedon-adjacent projects like “Dollhouse,” The Cabin in the Woods and Much Ado About Nothing. Her cellist, whose name has now been revealed to be Audrey, was recently mentioned on the series when Ruth Negga’s Rainia, trying to break Coulson, told him that the woman cried for days when she learned that Coulson had died in the Battle of New York.

“It seems like these two people are meant to be together and their story hasn’t really been told,” says Acker, hinting that her role as Audrey may wind up as more than a one-off. “The way that it ends in this episode, it seems like there’s a glimmer of hope that they may be together again or something like that. I feel like it’s sort of destiny for their paths to cross in some way.”

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” also stars Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Skye, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz and Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons.

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” airs Tuesdays at 8 P.M. on ABC.
