Phil Lord and Chris Miller Eyed for Ghostbusters Reboot

Earlier this week came the announcement that Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman was stepping down from the helm of the long-gestating Ghostbusters 3 following the death of Harold Ramis. Now, Nikki Finke reports that directing duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller are in talks to helm the project.

Lord and Miller have made quite a splash in recent years with Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs in 2009, 21 Jump Street in 2012 (which will see a sequel released later this year) and their most recent hit, The LEGO Movie. All of Lord and Miller’s previously-released films have gone on to gross over $200 million at the global box office.

Set to begin production next year in New York City, the storyline is rumored to focus on a new generation of Ghostbusters with cameos from the original stars written into the script.
