Entertainment One Films Acquires Domestic Rights to The Grand Seduction

Entertainment One Films US (eOne) has acquired the US distribution rights to the comedy The Grand Seduction, directed by Don McKellar, starring Golden Globe nominee Brendan Gleeson (The Guard, “Harry Potter” films) and Taylor Kitsch (Lone Survivor), and produced by Oscar-nominated producer Roger Frappier and Barbara Doran.

eOne is planning a theatrical release in the US this Summer.

McKellar directed The Grand Seduction from a screenplay by Michael Dowse and Ken Scott, who wrote the script for the acclaimed original 2003 French-Canadian film (La Grande Seduction). eOne’s Mark Slone executive produced alongside Jeff Sackman and Joe Iacono.

In The Grand Seduction, the only hope for the tiny outport of Tickle Head is a new Petrochemical plant, but in order to qualify for the bid they need to prove they have a resident doctor. When fate sends Dr. Paul Lewis (Kitsch) their way, unemployed fisherman Murray French (Gleeson) mobilizes the town to do everything they can to convince the fast living, jazz loving, cricket playing doctor that their sleepy harbour is a paradise tailor-made just for him.

The Grand Seduction made its world premiere last September at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival to critical praise and uproarious audience response.
