Matthew Vaughn Says The King’s Man Will Set Up Kingsman 3

The King’s Man: Matthew Vaughn says prequel will set up Kingsman 3

Despite the huge time gap between the setting of 2017’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle and the upcoming prequel film The King’s Man, director Matthew Vaughn has still found a way to connect his latest installment to the future of the blockbuster franchise. Speaking with Empire, the English director has confirmed that his Ralph Fiennes-led prequel film will indeed be setting up the events that will happen in the potential Kingsman 3.

“We’ve put seeds for what’s going to happen in Kingsman 3 all the way back into this. And it’s going to be very different.” Vaughn said.

In addition, Vaughn has also revealed that he’s still deciding whether or not he would return as director for the third Taron Egerton-led Kingsman film, despite previously planning to hand down the baton to a different director.

“I actually don’t know what I want to do,” He said. “There is an opportunity for a director to really change it up, but I’m considering it.”

At the end of Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Eggsy married a Crown Princess of Sweden, Harry was officially back in the fold, and Tequila (Channing Tatum) joined the Kingsman. It’s unclear whether all three will return for the sequel, or if Tequila’s former Statesman partners, Ginger Ale (Halle Berry) and Champ (Jeff Bridges) will come back as well.
