New to stream: The Film Detective’s Golden Age of Comedy April lineup

For audiences looking for brighter entertainment in the current dark times, classic streaming network The Film Detective has got an April lineup dedicated to the Golden Age of Comedy showcasing iconic goofs including The Three Stooges, Buster Keaton, Dean Martin and more!

The streaming service began the month with a full 24 hours showcasing the Stooges, Keaton, Martin, Jerry Lewis and Abbott and Costello on their various Sling, STIRR and DistroTV networks and for the rest of the month they have added more than a dozen comedies to its streaming library of over 1,000 classic film and television titles and will continue the month with a series of special movie marathons.

On Sunday, April 5, TFD will celebrate the 94th birthday of iconic film producer Roger Corman with the Roger Cor-Marathon from 3:30 p.m. to midnight with the titles A Bucket of Blood, 1960’s adaptation of The Little Shop of Horrors and more, with exclusive commentary on the classics from director Joe Dante and Corman himself available in the “Trailers from Hell” videos on the TFD app.

In addition, the streaming service will celebrate Easter on April 12 with a catalogue full of religious titles from The Cathedral Films Collection and The Loyola Films Collection, courtesy of Vision Video.

To finish off the month, TFD will be honoring the anniversary of Charlie Chaplin’s birthday on April 16 by streaming favorites including the 1921 classic The Kid and The Adventurer, as well as the tale of his rise to fame in 1966’s Chaplin’s Art of Comedy from indie filmmaker Sam Sherman. His birthday will be followed by a weekend-long marathon of comedy from April 17-19.
