Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Passes $500 Million Mark

Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker passed the $500M mark in its first 8 days, with $516.8 million worldwide to date. The J.J. Abrams film posted an estimated domestic Christmas Day of $32 million, the second best Christmas Day ever behind only Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Its domestic total currently stands at $258.9 million.

The ninth film in the Skywalker Saga has already bested the worldwide totals for 1983’s Return of the Jedi and 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story, and should surpass 1980’s The Empire Strikes Back and 2002’s Attack of the Clones by this coming weekend.
