Joseph Mazzello & Ariana Richards Open to Returning to Jurassic Park

Joseph Mazzello and Ariana Richards open to returning to Jurassic Park

After the exciting announcement that Sam Neil, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum would be reprising their Jurassic Park roles in the upcoming Jurassic World 3, the internet instantly began questioning whether or not Joseph Mazzello and Ariana Richards, who played Tim and Lex in Steven Spielberg’s original 1993 blockbuster, would also come back for more dino action. According to Entertainment Tonight, the answer is yes!

In a recent article, ET reported “that the two leads are both open to the idea,” though they also quickly mention that a source close to the situation has stated, “there are no current conversations” about the two actors joining the film. Still, it would be a huge missed opportunity to not at least feature Mazzello and Richards in the film in some way shape or form. Perhaps Tim became a dinosaur expert whose book sales rival those of Grant’s … and maybe Lex turned into a cyber terrorist with plans to utilize the dinosaurs for her own gain. The possibilities are endless.

Mazzello was last seen in Bohemian Rhapsody, Undrafted and the TV series Elementary. He was also quite terrific in HBO’s The Pacific miniseries. Richards was last seen in the TV movie Battledogs way back in 2013. She also appeared in Tremors 3: Back to Perfection in 2001 … but as spent most of her time working as a successful artist.

Steven Spielberg and Colin Trevorrow return to executive produce Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s Jurassic World 3, with Trevorrow once again directing the next chapter in one of the biggest franchises in the history of cinema. Producers Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley once again partner with Spielberg and Trevorrow in leading the filmmakers for this installment. Joining the Jurassic team for the first time is Emily Carmichael (upcoming Pacific Rim UprisingThe Black Hole), who will craft the Jurassic World 3 screenplay with Trevorrow. They will work off a story by Derek Connolly and Trevorrow, who together co-wrote Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
