First launched during Comic-Con International this past summer, The Amazing Spider-Man 2‘s viral Tumblr feed has today been updated with the below article, “Oscorp Biz Holds Steady,” from the faux The Daily Bugle‘s Joy Mercado. Oscorp spokesman Douglas Menken provided some details from the meeting, including that the construction on the prototype alternative energy power plant, complete with hydroelectric tower, is on schedule for completion within the next year.

If he is appearing in the May 2, 2014 release, there’s a good chance that Smythe has already been cast. B.J. Novak and Colm Feore are two of the film’s previously-announced stars that have not, at the moment, had their characters officially confirmed.
Also starring, Andrew Garfield, Dane DeHaan, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, Sally Field, Chris Cooper and Sarah Gadon also star in the May 2, 2014 release directed by Marc Webb.
In the film, Peter Parker (Garfield), is finding that life is busy ? between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away ? but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.[Gallery not found]
