Michael B. Jordan Talks Star Wars, Fantastic Four, Independence Day 2 and More!

The future is looking very bright for Fruitvale Station star Michael B. Jordan. The actor confirmed today to The Associated Press that he’s eyeing potential roles in (as previously rumored), director Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four, Roland Emmerich’s Independence Day 2 and J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII. He confirms that he recently auditioned for an unspecified role in the latter film.

“I mean, everybody’s going in on this project,” Jordan says. “They’re trying to figure out what they want. That’s another incredible franchise. It’s pretty crazy! …We’ll see how it happens. I don’t know how I can do everything.”

The star goes on to explain that, unlike in Saoirse Ronan’s audition, he wasn’t asked to demonstrate his lightsaber prowess.

Roles in Fantastic Four and Independence Day 2, meanwhile, seem to still be up in the air. Of the latter, Jordan says that, “if that came true, that would be cool, too,” while staying optimistic about the former, which would re-team him with Chronicle‘s Trank.

“Definitely interested in the project,” Jordan says of the Marvel Comics reboot. “Josh Trank is a buddy of mine.”

A certainty for Jordan, however, is an upcoming Rocky spinoff, Creed, that will see him playing the son of Apollo Creed opposite Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky Balboa.
