Eli Roth’s latest feature directorial effort, The Green Inferno, is going to be sequelized, says The Hollywood Reporter.
The cannibal film made its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this weekend.
The sequel, Beyond the Green Inferno, will be helmed by Nicolas Lopez, who collaborated with Roth earlier this year on Aftershock.
The Green Inferno follows a group of student activists who from New York City travel to the Amazon to protect a dying tribe, but crash in the jungle and are taken hostage by the very natives they saved.
Lopez and Guillermo Amoedo penned Beyond the Green Inferno; Roth will “present” and produce. Plot details are being kept under wraps.
