The Hollywood Reporter brings word that The Blue Door horror short has been picked up by Amblin Partners. Paul Taylor, the director of the original short, will helm the feature film version of the story. You can check out the BAFTA-nominated short in the player below!

The Blur Door short revolved around a nurse assigned to an elderly woman living in a dilapidated home. The nurse unwittingly becomes the focus of the dark entity that is connected to a secret blue door, that once opened, has devastating consequences. Game of Thrones’ Gemma Whelan starred as the caring nurse in the short film.
The feature version of The Blue Door is described as having a strong dramatic core combined with a high concept horror mythology. Amblin’s Holly Barrio and Andrew Calof, who quickly secured the deal after several buyers expressed interest in the project, will oversee on behalf of Amblin.

The horror short writers and producers Megan Pugh and Ben Clark will also return to co-write the feature script. Alex Heineman and Andrew Rona will produce The Blue Door horror movie for The Picture Company. The Picture Company has other projects in the works with Amblin, including Larry, The White Room, and Whisper.
