Skeet Ulrich and Laura Harrier Join Tom Hank’s Sci-Fi Film Bios

Amblin has announced that Skeet Ulrich (Scream) and Laura Harrier (BlacKkKlansman) have signed on to join the cast of the upcoming sci-fi drama Bios. They will be joining Oscar winner Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump), Caleb Landry Jones (Get Out), and Samira Wiley (The Handmaid’s Tale).

The film follows Finch (Hanks), the last man on Earth. An ailing inventor facing his own mortality, Finch builds a robot (Jones) to keep his beloved dog safe. As the trio embarks upon an epic cross-country journey, the scientist must teach his creation to become “human” enough to take care of its charge, and the beloved pet to accept a new master.

Ulrich is best known for his role as Billy Loomis in the 1996 iconic slasher film Scream. His other appearances include The Craft, Boys, The Newtown Boys, Chill Factor and Armored. Harrier gained recognition for her appearances in Spider-Man: Homecoming and the award-winning biographical film BlacKkKlansman.

Emmy-winning director Miguel Sapochnik (Game of Thrones, Altered Carbon) is directing Bios from a script by Craig Luck (Interloper) and Ivor Powell (The Dreamer).

Kevin Misher and Powell will produce alongside ImageMovers’ Jack Rapke and Jackie Levine. Robert Zemeckis, Luck, Sapochnik, and Andy Berman will serve as executive producers on the film. Universal Pictures will distribute the project domestically and in select international territories.

Bios is scheduled to be released in October of 2020.
