Eight for Silver: Horror feature casts Boyd Holbrook & more
Deadline is reporting that Boyd Holbrook (The Predator), Kelly Reilly (Yellowstone), and Alistair Petrie (Sex Education) will star in LD Entertainment’s Eight for Silver. The movie is a horror period feature written and directed by Oscar nominee Sean Ellis (Cashback, Metro Manila).
Set in the countryside of France, the 19th-century film follows John McBride (Holbrook), a pathologist assigned to determine if the body of a 14-year-old boy found in the woods is the work of a man or a beast. McBride is then welcomed as a guest into the family home of a local wealthy landowner, Seamus Laurent (Petrie), and his wife Isabelle (Reilly), who share that their own son, a friend of the victim, has been missing for two weeks. Distraught and determined to keep her daughter safe, Isabelle finds comfort in the arrival of John while he is forced to confront the horrors of his own dark past.
Holbrook is best known for his roles in last year’s The Predator and as the antagonist in 2017’s Logan. His credits also include Narcos, The Host, Gone Girl, Boomtown, and Run All Night. The actor’s upcoming projects include the drama Two/One, Jim Mickle’s thriller In the Shadow of the Moon, and the drama CashVille.
Production on the Eight for Silver is scheduled to begin this month in France. Mickey Liddell and Pete Shilaimon will produce Eight for Silver for LD Entertainment, who is fully financing the project.
