Captain Marvel's Mckenna Grace in Talks for Ghostbusters 3

Captain Marvel’s Mckenna Grace in Talks for Ghostbusters 3

12-year-old actress Mckenna Grace is going from the MCU to the world of Ghostbusters. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that the young actress is in talks for a starring role in Sony Pictures’ upcoming Ghostbusters 3. Grace is no stranger to the world of the paranormal either, having previously appeared in Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House as a young Theo and starring as Judy Warren in the upcoming Annabelle Comes Home. She was also our proton pack-rocking cover girl in an article we ran in January about young actors who could appear in this sequel!

Grace joins a cast that includes Stranger Things and IT star Finn Wolfhard and acclaimed actress Carrie Coon (Fargo, Avengers: Infinity War, Gone Girl). How this single mom and her two kids will connect to the original Ghostbusters films is being kept under wraps.

Jason Reitman will direct the upcoming Ghostbusters threequel, taking up the mantle from his father Ivan Reitman who directed the original Ghostbusters (1984) and Ghostbusters 2 (1989). Jason also had a memorable cameo in the second film. Reitman will be co-writing the script with Gil Kenan (Monster HousePoltergeist), who is no stranger to ghost stories.

While it is currently unknown who of the surviving core Ghostbusters cast (Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, Annie Potts, Rick Moranis) will return, it has been reported that Reitman is looking to cast four teen actors (two boys and two girls) in lead roles to tackle supernatural baddies.
