Deadpool 2’s David Leitch to direct Undying Love
According to Deadline, Deadpool 2 director David Leitch is circling the adaptation of the graphic novel Undying Love as his next gig. The film was originally purchased by Warner Bros. as a possible vehicle for Joe Carnahan and Alex Aja a while back, but the project never materialized. Now, Jeff Robinov’s Studio 8 has swooped in to salvage the film with production expected to start later this year based on a script from Tommy Wirkola (Dead Snow).
The graphic novel from Tomm Coker and Daniel Freedman is described as “part Chinese folklore meets brilliantly reinvented Vampire lore,” according to the report, and “an action adventure story set for the ages.”
Undying Love will be produced by Kelly McCormick, Stephen L’Heureux. Robinov will be exec producer.
Leitch is becoming quite the prominent director having helmed the aforementioned Deadpool 2 along with John Wick, Atomic Blonde and the upcoming Fast and Furious spinoff Hobbs & Shaw starring Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham and Idris Elba.
