This Friday, LAIKA, the studio that brought us Coraline and ParaNorman, is ready to introduce their latest animated adventure, The Boxtrolls. Featuring the voice talents of Sir Ben Kingsley, Isaac Hempstead Wright, Elle Fanning, Dee Bradley Baker, Steve Blum, Toni Collette, Jared Harris, Nick Frost, Richard Ayoade, Tracy Morgan and Simon Pegg, The Boxtrolls is directed by Anthony Stacchi and Graham Annable and is based on the book “Here Be Monsters!” by Alan Snow.
Set in a cheese-loving town called Cheesebridge, The Boxtrolls follows the adventures of a young orphaned boy, Eggs (Hempstead-Wright), who finds himself lovingly raised by the titular creatures. Together, they all live beneath the streets and come up only at night to steal whatever objects they can find. That is, until Eggs crosses path with a young girl, Winnie (Fanning), and comes face to face with Archibald Snatcher (Kingsley), the leader of a vile gang that hope to capture the Boxtrolls and trade them for social acceptance.
ComingSoon.net sat down with Fanning, Kingsley, Stacchi and Annable to discuss the bizarre world of The Boxtrolls and their respective roles in building it from the ground up. Check out the interviews in the player below and catch The Boxtrolls in theaters on September 26.
