CS Video: McAvoy, Fassbender, Stewart, Page and Dinklage Talk X-Men: Days of Future Past

Hopefully, you’ve already watched our interviews with Hugh Jackman and the producers of X-Men: Days of Future Past and that’s whet your appetite for the seventh movie in Fox’s mutant franchise.

Last up, we have a bunch of bits from some of the rest of the cast including James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, who play the younger Professor Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr aka Magneto introduced in 2011’s X-Men: First Class; Sir Patrick Stewart and Ellen Page, two of the cast returning from X-Men: The Last Stand as the present day Professor Xavier and Kitty Pryde, as well as Peter Dinklage as Bolivar Trask, the creator of the Sentinels.

We began the interviews talking to McAvoy and Fassbender about what was different between this movie and “First Class” with the return of director Bryan Singer and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. From there, we go to returning castmates Stewart and Page who discuss getting the call to return to action in the mutant franchise and what was it like returning to the characters. Dinklage talks about finding the motives for someone like Trask to essentially pave the way for genocide.

Fassbender talks about one of the ideas he had for having Magneto doing yoga while being held in prison since the last movie, McAvoy and Stewart talk about playing two different versions of Professor X, and lastly, we decided, along with Page and Stewart, that we need to see more Kitty Pryde in a future “X-Men” movie with Stewart’s Xavier acting as her mentor figure. Make it so, 20th Century Fox!

X-Men: Days of Future Past opens nationwide on Thursday night, May 22.
