The Marvel Cinematic Universe is constantly growing and metastisizing, adding more and more actors to its ranks with each newly-released film. In terms of scale, these movies—especially last year’s Avengers: Infinity War and Marvel’s latest release, Avengers: Endgame—are unprecedented. They are nearer to expensive, theatrically-released episodes of a gigantic television show, similar to a serial like the original 1930s Flash Gordon. These two movies both made quite a killing at the box office, as did Black Panther and Captain Marvel, two more of their most high-profile films to date. But Marvel does not control film as a whole—at least, not yet. Who can say what the future holds?
For now, none of these actors are limited to just their superhero forms. Each of them has one or more laudable performances in other franchises or even individual films—as increasingly rare as one-off movies are today. Here are seven of the best non-Marvel Cinematic Universe films starring one or more members of the Avengers.
7 Captivating Non-Marvel Movies Starring Avengers

'Clueless'
Long before he was Ant-Man, Paul Rudd starred in the cult classic Clueless. Even today, this modernized adaptation of Jane Austen's Emma is wholly enjoyable.

Jeremy Renner appeared in the Mission: Impossible franchise before he donned the moniker of Hawkeye in The Avengers.
