Ethan Hawke returns to the big screen tomorrow in a new thriller called The Purge. The film marks his second collaboration with Blumhouse Productions following last year’s Sinister. Here, Hawke plays a father who is the head of a home security installation company. When a group of masked killers show up at his door during a nation-wide event, his beliefs and survival skills are put to the test.

The Purge is set in the not-so-distant future where the American government has sanctioned an annual 12-hour period in which any and all criminal activity – including murder – is legal. The police cant be called. Hospitals suspend help. It is one night when the citizenry regulates itself without thought of punishment. On this night plagued by violence and an epidemic of crime, one family wrestles with the decision of who they will become when a stranger comes knocking.
