Build Up Episode 7 Recap & Spoilers: Jay Chung Disbands ‘Fever’ Trio To Create ‘One Team’

Mnet’s latest K-pop survival, Build Up, is slowly inching towards its end. Episode 7 revealed the participants’ final ‘One Team’ formation. The current groups will remain unchanged until the finale.

The seventh installment of the show came with a few surprises and heartbreaks. Some of the show’s favorite contestants bid goodbye after Triple Death matches, and the judges chose to save only five potential candidates who would move forward to the one-team round. Interestingly, Bitsaeon, the main vocalist of M.O.N.T., was one of the five contestants who got another chance to compete in the Build-Up quarter-final round.

Build Up episode 7: Mnet reveals One Team formation and new voting window

Build Up episode 7 unveiled several shocking progressions of the show that fans were not ready for. After winning the Triple Death match, Jay Chung, Wumati, and Kang Ha-Yoon saved themselves from elimination. Other safe participants were Choi Ha-Ram, Hwang In-Hyuk, and Sunyoul (the Three Tofu team). Taco Trio Jung Soo-Min, Geonu, and Kim Seo-hyung were also safe from elimination.

The last performance of the Triple Death mission was between two strong vocal trios: my Gwang-Seok team, consisting of Lee Gwang-Seok, Lim Jun-Hyeok, and Yeo One who won against the Sofa team, comprising Yoon In-Hwan, Ma Jae-Kyung, and Lee Dong-Hun.

After announcing all the winners of the Triple Death matches, the judges of Build Up revealed the list of contestants who will get one more chance to survive, including Donghyun, Bitsaeon, Bain, Minseo, and Woong.

Participants who got eliminated in the 7th episode include:

  • Inhwan
  • Juhe
  • Taewoo
  • Jaekyung
  • Yunseo
  • Minwook
  • Yeonwoo
  • Intae
  • Sanghyun

After the Triple Death mission concluded, Build Up host Lee Da-Hee revealed the surprising One Team formation. Now, groups of four members will be created and remain until the finale.

Furthermore, the judges chose five top-tier contestants from each winning trio who could decide to keep or disband their current team formation to create a new ‘One Team.’ Surprisingly, top-tier rookies Jay Chung, Je Up, and Sunyoul chose to disband their winning trios. Meanwhile, Soomin and Gwangseok kept the original trio formation and only added one member to create their dream team.

At the end of episode 7, all One Team contestants came to the stage to introduce themselves to the live audience. Further, Jay Chung chose Bitsaeon, Seunghun, and Minseo to create the new team – HUN-MIN-JAY-BIT with the motto of being an all-rounder in every aspect, visual or vocal.

Je Up selected Donghun, Bain, and Woong to create his perfect team, Partners. Gwangseok invited Inhyuk to join the DO- RE-MI-FA team for the final few missions. His current team consists of Gwangseok, Yeo One, Junhyeok and Inhyuk.

Also, Soomin picked Choi Haram to join his dream team, MILKY-UP. The team includes Soomin, Geonu, Seohyung, and Choi Haram.

However, Sunyoul did not have to choose his One Team members as he was the last winner after everyone’s selection. Also, Suhwan, Kang Hayoon, and Wumuti joined Sunyuol as his teammates.

The global fans can vote on Mnet Plus from March 9 to 11 to ensure their favorite ‘One Team’ stays in the competition and advances to the semi-final.
