YG’s K-Pop Group Babymonster Confirms First Album’s Release Date & Time

Babymonster announced the release date and time of their first album. After two hit singles, “Batter Up” and “Stuck In The Middle,” YG’s new girl group will release a mini album soon.

After the success of YG’s world-popular act BLACKPINK, the anticipation for Babymonster has been building since the first announcement of another girl group. YG unveiled the members first on a YouTube series titled Last Evaluation.

After a series of missions, YG selected seven members as the act’s lineup, including Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Rami, Rora, and Chiquita.

Babymonster album’s release date and time revealed

Babymonster’s first self-titled album will be released on April 1 at 12 a.m. KST/ March 31 at 10 a.m. ET/ 7 a.m. PT. The album’s tracklist and more details will be released at a later date.

The first album of the rookie group also raises fans’ curiosity to see what kind of concepts the act will be trying. Babymonster‘s first song, Batter Up, was an upbeat tempo and a classic YG template song, which fans have been familiar with owing to BLACKPINK’s massive popularity.

But the rookie group surprised fans with their next offering, “Stuck In the Middle, ” a piano-based ballad. The group’s vocals shone in the second song as the minimal arrangements and the track’s melody struck a chord with fans.

Both the songs also garnered massive views on YouTube. The debut single “Batter Up” clocked over 223 million views on the platform within three months of its release. “Stuck In The Middle” showed the group’s longevity on YouTube, receiving over 78 million views within four weeks.

Along with YouTube, Babymonster has been reigning Spotify with impressive streaming numbers. The group’s debut song got over 71 million streams on the platform, making it one of the biggest debut songs for a girl group.

The winter release of the rookie act had over 6 million streams and counting before their official album release.

Besides the group’s commercial performance on charts, Babymonster has proven its impact by snagging multiple awards at the year-end K-pop ceremonies.

The K-pop newbies won the Circle Chart Music Awards’ Rookie of the Year – Global Streaming award in the 2024 ceremony.
