Cast of The Atypical Family: Who Is Chun Woo-Hee’s Uncle Choi Kwang-Rok?

Netflix’s ongoing K-drama, The Atypical Family, is gaining rapid popularity because of its unique storyline and amazing cast. Alongside lead actors Jang Ki-Yong and Chun Woo-Hee, the series also features Choi Kwang-Rok in a pivotal role.

Choi Kwang-Rok is currently grabbing attention for playing Do Da-Hae’s (Chun Woo-Hee) uncle, Noh Hyung-Tae, in the K-drama. The latest episode 8 sheds light on his character’s soft side. Hyung-Tae is the bodyguard of Baek Il-Hong, who is a loan shark and the mastermind behind scamming the Bok family. 

When Da-Hae’s father dies, Il-Hong takes in Da-Hae and uses her to lure innocent and wealthy men. Il-Hong and Hyung-Tae are frauds but have somehow become Da-Hae’s family. The K-drama also shows that Hyung-Tae is the only one who showcases his soft side to Da-Hae. In episode 8, Yi-Na also experiences the bodyguard’s gentle side when he plays with her. 

The Atypical Family cast Choi Kwang-Rok’s drama list explored

The Atypical Family cast member Choi Kwang-Rok seems new to the entertainment industry. Formerly known as Roy, the actor has appeared in a few dramas over the years. However, the latest Netflix K-drama showcases his acting skills in a better light.

He plays a dangerous-looking thug, Hyung-Tae, but has a soft corner for Da-Hae. Although he is loyal to Il-Hong and her criminal activities, Hyung-Tae protects his fake niece whenever needed. The 32-year-old actor has grabbed fans’ attention because of his physical transformation.

Apart from The Atypical Family, Kwang-Rok has also appeared in Celebrity, Hit the Spot, and Green Mother’s Club. He has played supporting roles in his debut drama, Green Mothers’ Club, and the main role in Hit the Spot. Also, in Park Gyu-Young’s Celebrity, Kwang-Rok made a guest appearance.

Meanwhile, he plays a significant role in Netflix’s The Atypical Family. It airs on Saturdays and Sundays at 10:30 p.m. KST on JTBC.
