Why Is Netflix’s All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Production Postponed?

Netflix’s highly-awaited K-drama All of Us Are Dead Season 2 was announced a year ago. However, it looks like avid fans might have to wait for a little more. According to a report by Star News, Netflix decided to postpone the series’ production by one year (2025) for a “better production environment and a high level of completion.” The streaming platform has yet to make an official comment on the same.

All of Us Are Dead follows the journey of Hyosan High School students who fight for survival after a zombie apocalypse in the school threatens their safety. The trapped students must either find a way out of this issue or survive their way through attacks when people among them get infected. Meanwhile, the first season premiered on January 28, 2022. It instantly became a hit amongst the audience.

Netflix’s All of Us Are Dead Season 2: Does it have a release date?

The popular Netflix drama All of Us Are Dead announced a second season in 2023. It confirmed the return of Hyosan High School students and a revival of popular characters from its first season. Soon after the first season, series director Lee Jae-Kyoo, in an interview with The Korea Herald, revealed that many scenes were “intentionally produced to expand the story into an additional season.” He hinted at new zombie races and their survival.

In another interview with Chosun Daily, the director revealed that filming will take place in the latter half of 2024 and that the series will be released in the second half of next year. He also expressed that the casting was complete and that Seoul would be the setting for the second season.

On May 23, 2024, Star News revealed that Netflix postponed the promotion schedule by one year. There has been no announcement of a release date as of yet.

Meanwhile, many cast members will potentially make their return despite suffering major injuries and issues in the first season. These include Park Ji-Hu, Yoon Chan-Young, Cho Yi-Hyun, Lomon, Lee Eun-Saem, Kim Bo-Yun, Im Jae-Hyeok, and Ha Sung-Ri.
