Go Kyung-Pyo’s Frankly Speaking Episode 1 Release Date Revealed on JTBC

Frankly Speaking is a new K-drama set to release in May 2024 on JTBC and Netflix. Starring Go Kyung-Pyo and Kang Han-Na, it is a romance comedy revolving around a polite news announcer whose life changes after a minor accident.

Song Ki-Baek (Go Kyung-Pyo), an anchor at a broadcasting channel, is a kind, ambitious, polite, and talented employee. He is one of the popular announcers who is asked to appear on a variety show written by On Woo-Joo (Kang Han-Na). She thinks that Ki-Baek can produce some entertaining content, given his personality.

But things do not go according to her plan, and she gets frustrated with Ki-Baek’s all-round attitude. During an argument, he accidentally touches an open socket and gets electrocuted. This accident results in Ki-Baek only speaking the brutal truth without thinking.

Frankly Speaking episode 1 will premiere on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 8.50 p.m. KST on JTBC. The K-drama will also be available to stream on Netflix.

Apart from Song Ki-Baek as Go Kyung-Po and Kang Han-Na as On Woo-Joo, this drama also features Joo Jong-Hyuk as Kim Jung-Heon, Shin Jung-Keun as Song In-Soo, Kang Ae-Shim as Na Yoo-Jung, Hwang Sung-Bin as Song Woon-Baek, and Lee Jin-Hyuk as Song Pung-Baek.

On Netflix, the official synopsis reads, “A well-respected announcer suddenly loses his ability to self-censor on air, catching the attention of a TV writer who invites him on her variety show.”

After the incident, Ki-Baek speaks whatever comes to his mind. Once a polite and patient employee turns into a rude person with no censorship while speaking. Furthermore, the sudden change in his personality affects his work life. Meanwhile, it helps Woo-Joo create good content for her variety TV show.

Frankly Speaking will air new episodes twice a week on Wednesday and Thursday on JTBC and Netflix.
