Chicken Nugget ending: What happens to Kim Yoo-Jung?

In Chicken Nugget, since the day Choi Min-Ah (Kim Yoo-Jung) turned into a piece of chicken nugget after entering a mysterious machine, her father, Choi Seon-Man (Ryu Seung-Ryong), and his intern Go Baek-Joong (Ahn Jae-Hong) go to any extend to turn her into a human again. However, they struggle to find the truth behind the mysterious machine.

In the latter part of the series, they discover the connection between the machine and a scientist, Yoo In-Won. He and his nephew, Yoo Tae-Man, have tried to make the machine work in their favor for a long time. But they have also failed, as no human can make it work. Soon, they go on to lose the machine. However, Yoo Tae-Man and Yoo In-Won get their hands on it again, along with the piece of the chicken nugget, which is Choi Min-Ah.

While tracking both Choi Min-Ah and the machine, Go Baek-Joong and Choi Seon-Man arrive at the place where Yoo In-Won and Yoo Tae-Man have been keeping the machine and Choi Min-Ah, who is still a piece of chicken nugget. Soon, four individuals from Baekjung Chicken Nuggets, a restaurant, arrive there. The series then discloses that the four of them are not human beings but are aliens, who belong to a different planet. They are also the owners of the mysterious machine.

At the end of Chicken Nugget episode 9, the four aliens convince Choi Seon-Man and Go Baek-Joong to give them Choi Min-Ah in the form of the nugget to take her to their planet. The aliens can only fix the machine on their planet and, thus, turn Choi Min-Ah into a human again. However, it means, Choi Min-Ah will return to Earth after 50 years as time works like that between Earth and the other planet.

The finale episode of Chicken Nugget opens with 50 years in the future. Go Baek-Joong (Ahn Jae-Hong) is an old singer who has become famous. He has created his own fandom. His fans show him immense support and love. Although he has fulfilled his dream of becoming a singer and gained a lot of fame, he still has a void in his life. Go Baek-Joong is still waiting for Choi Min-Ah’s (Kim Yoo-Jung) return to Earth in her human form.

Soon, the episode shows that the alien who took Choi Min-Ah to his planet has returned to Earth to meet Go Baek-Joong. However, he has failed to bring Choi Min-Ah. He needs one more day to recharge the machine but it means no one will remember Min-Ah. Go Baek-Joong is heartbroken after seeing Min-Ah still in her chicken nugget form.

However, the alien then gives Go Baek-Joong another small machine that will make him return to any time in his life. But if he does this, he will lose all his memory till now. It means all his fame will also be gone. But, to see Min-Ah again in her human body, Go Baek-Joong decides to use the button-like machine. He calls for Min-Ah’s father, Choi Seon-Man (Ryu Seung-Ryong), who is still alive despite being over 100 years old. However, he sadly passes away on his way to meet Go Baek-Joong.
