Queen of Divorce Episode 5 Recap: Did Lee Ji-Ah’s Revenge Plan Against Oh Min-Suk Work?

Starring Lee Ji-Ah, Oh Min-Suk, and Kang Ki-Young, Queen of Divorce episode 5 aired on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, on JTBC. The K-drama is currently dealing with a woman seeking revenge on her ex-husband by helping his current wife get a divorce.

In episode 4, Noh Yul-Sung’s wife, Ji-In, seeks his ex-wife Kim Sa-Ra’s help to settle divorce alimony. Sa-Ra and members of her divorce consultancy firm, Solution, lay out a plan to help their client. But Yul-Sung finds Ji-In’s weakness to blackmail her.

Queen of Divorce episode 5 features Sa-Ra’s decision not to give up on Ji-In. Her revenge plan includes destroying Yul-Sung’s potential assemblyman image in public before the elections.

Queen of Divorce episode 5 spoilers: Lee Ji-Ah manages to ruin Oh Min-Suk’s press conference

The previous episode of Queen of Divorce showed that Solution’s new manager joined forces with Yul-Sung and handed over a video of Ji-In. It featured an intimate moment of Ji-In and a man. When Yul-Sung shows it to his wife in the latest episode 5, she gets scared and agrees to cooperate. In return, she requests him to help her father seek bail.

Yul-Sung fools the public by planning an attack on him with Ji-In by his side. The latter fires Sa-Ra (Lee Ji-Ah) as her divorce consultant, but things change when she realizes that Yul-Sung has no plan to help her father. Seeing Ji-In’s situation, Sa-Ra pursues a political move to tarnish Yul-Sung’s image. She intervenes in his campaign and reveals to the public that he tried to kidnap his wife but kidnapped his ex-wife by mistake.

Yul-Sung gets furious and barges into the Solution office, threatening Sa-Ra about the repercussions. He tells her to make things right in a press conference the next day. Before the media meet, she and Ji-In get together to set a plan against Yul-Sung. At the conference, Ji-In reveals that Sa-Ra’s claims are true, leaving him in shock. As a result, he loses the election.

Aside from Yul-Sung’s drama, Sa-Ra also finds out that she once saved her colleague, Dae-Gi, medically. Before thanking her in person, he hugs her. Kang Ki-Young’s Dong Gi-Jun sees them and misunderstands their relationship. However, he later finds out that they are nothing more than co-workers. It appears the ex-lovers still have feelings for each other.

Queen of Divorce episode 5 ending: Did Kang Ki-Young save Lee Ji-Ah from a burning building?

Towards the end of Queen of Divorce episode 5, Oh Min-Suk’s Yul-Sung calls Ji-In at a secluded location. Instead of her, Lee Ji-Ah’s Sa-Ra arrives.

She tells Yul-Sung that she will stop bothering him once he signs the alimony papers. Filled with anger after losing the election, he threatens to ruin her life by using their son as leverage. They get into a heated argument, followed by him choking her with his hands. Yul-Sung’s bodyguards stop him from harming her.

They leave Sa-Ra in a room of a vacant building and lock the door. The next scene shows it is heavily pouring outside when thunder strikes inside the building. Electricity goes off, and a fire breaks out in the room. Sa-Ra tries to escape but faints due to the smoke.

Meanwhile, Kang Ki-Young’s Dong Gi-Jun arrives at the location and sees the burning building. He rushes inside to save Sa-Ra. The Queen of Divorce episode 5 ends with him looking at Sa-Ra lying unconscious on the floor.

New episodes of the K-drama airs twice a week on Wednesday and Thursday on JTBC.
