The Matchmakers episode 15 begins with Park So-Hyun’s intention behind organizing the old maidens’ wedding at her house. The eldest maiden is set to marry the crown prince and hence will be the guest at the wedding. It helps So-Hyun to rebuild her social status after her husband’s death.

However, things don’t go as planned because her daughter, Ye-Jin, runs away to her lover just before the wedding. Soon-Deok (Cho Yi-Hyun) and Jung-Woo are now one bride and one groom short. Scholar Shi-Yeol, who was supposed to marry Ye-Jin, confesses that he likes the second maiden Maeng Du-Ri. As per the wedding ritual, the lead characters instruct the grooms to cover their faces the entire time.

When the brides and grooms walk in, the third pair appear to be Jung-Woo (Rowoon) and Soon-Deok. Both informed each other that the problem occurred on their end, which is why they had to take the places of the third pair. The mayor gets suspicious about the third groom and doubts that he is Jung-Woo, so he wants to catch him red-handed.

Meanwhile, Ye-Jin and her lover, Boo-Gye, are nowhere to be found. The Joseon’s first night happens before the actual wedding, following which the couples enter their respective rooms. After the mayor barges into the first two rooms, he walks towards the third one where Jung-Woo and Soon-Deok are waiting for Ye-Jin.

The Matchmakers episode 15 also reveals the culprit behind the princess’ death. It was So-Hyun who arranged a poisoned snack for the crown prince on the day of Jung-Woo and the princess’ wedding. However, he gave the snack to her sister (the princess), which is how she died. When Jung-Woo discovers the truth, he tells So-Hyun that her greed led to her eldest son’s death.

The Matchmakers episode 15 ending: Jung-Woo reveals why he wants to run away with Soon-Deok

Towards the end of The Matchmakers episode 15, Jung-Woo (Rowoon) wants to confirm Soon-Deok’s (Cho Yi-Hyun) stand on running away together. He had asked this question at the beginning of the episode as well.

At the time, she had agreed to run away with him after the maidens’ wedding. Jung-Woo asks her again, but this time, she slightly changes her answer. Soon-Deok mentions that she would run away with him but after six-seven years. As she adopted her eldest brother-in-law’s son, she wants to see him get married.

Jung-Woo is surprised by the change of answer. Soon-Deok asks him why he is in a hurry. To this, he replies, “I do not want to leave you in this house even a day more.” He is concerned about Soon-Deok’s safety because he is aware of her evil mother-in-law, So-Hyun. The latter killed her husband and brother to save her family name. The Matchmakers episode 15 ends with Jung-Woo and Soon-Deok trying to leave the room before the mayor barges in.
