The Matchmakers episode 10 spoilers: Rowoon’s Jung-Woo loved the princess

The Matchmakers episode 10 begins with Jung-Woo (Rowoon) asking Joo-Daek (Cho Yi-Hyun) why she lied about her feelings. She accepts that she likes him but also mentions that she cannot be with him because she still loves her late husband.

The two visit a temple to meet monk Maegol to investigate the murder of the Left State Minister’s elder son. Maegol reveals that he was in love with the son, and when they were caught, the Left State Minister killed his own son. Joo-Daek is shocked because the killer is Soon-Deok’s father-in-law.

Episode 10 further shows the Left State Minister, his wife, and the Defense Minister plotting against the crown prince. They lay a trap for the king’s son. Meanwhile, Jung-Woo visits Soon-Deok’s house as he is the teacher of her adopted son. However, he is unaware of his student’s mother’s identity.

In a conversation, the kid mentions a rumor about Jung-Woo that he was forced to marry the late princess. Rowoon’s character reveals that the rumor is untrue and that he loved his late wife. He said, “I married the princess because I loved her enough to give up on my dream of becoming the Chief State Minister.” This is why he has not given up on finding the reason behind her sudden death.

Meanwhile, Soon-Deok/Joo-Daek struggles to get rid of her feelings for Jung-Woo. The next day, the matchmakers are back on their job to find matches for three old maidens. The men Joo-Daek picked seem to have changed their paths. Interestingly, Jung-Woo, trusting his intuitions, makes the first proposal.

An incident leads Inspector Jung Soon-Goo to propose to maiden Maeng Sam-Soon. The two liked each other initially, but Soon-Goo refused to marry her earlier. After their pairing, the second maiden, Maeng Du-Ri, also finds her match in Lee Shi-Yeol.

The Matchmakers episode 10 ending: Will Cho Yi-Hyun accept Rowoon’s love?

Towards The Matchmakers episode 10 end, Joo-Daek discovers that Rowoon’s Jung-Woo might be the mythical matchmaker Ssangyeonsulsa.

In an earlier episode, the three maidens’ mother told Joo-Daek about the legendary Ssangyeonsulsa. She said, “[Ssangyeonsulsa] hears sounds or recognize fate with their energies from their bodies.” In this context, Jung-Woo has chest pains whenever he witnesses potential matches.

Throughout the K-drama episode, there have been a few heart-fluttering moments between Jung-Woo and Joo-Daek. The episode ends with one of those moments. While enjoying a festival, Jung-Woo states that it is his first time at the festival. He mentions that he would like to enjoy it every year with her.

The Matchmakers episode 10 ends with Jung-Woo saying, “You do not need to forget your late husband. I also have not forgotten the Princess. Like you, I probably will never be able to forget her. However, it is certain that I like you. Is that not also true of you, too?” Joo-Daek looks into his eyes, indicating that she accepts what he says.
