tvN recently released some new photos of Twinkling Watermelon. The series, starring Choi Hyun-Wook, Ryeoun, Seol In-Ah and Shin Eun-Soo, ended its 16 episodes run on November 14, 2023. The K-drama follows the story of a CODA (child of deaf adult) student Eun-Gyeol. He is an aspiring musician who his journeys back in time to meet a few high school students to form the band Watermelon Sugar.
The newly released photos of Twinkling Watermelon tease unreleased footage of Yi Chan (Choi Hyun Wook) and Cheong-Ah’s (Shin Eun-Soo) sweet interaction. Eun-Gyeol (Ryeoun) traveled to the past to meet his young parents, setting up their relationship along the way. However, viewers have complained thar there was not enough screentime for Yi Chan and Cheong-Ah’s story to develop. However, the newly released pictures give some hope to fans of the K-drama.

With Twinkling Watermelon coming to an end, the series garnered massive success among viewers. The storyline, the time travel element, and the soft but intimate romantic stories have kept fans busy every Monday and Tuesday for the past couple of months.
Besides, the newly released photos have been satisfying for fans who requested to see more of Yi Chan and Cheong-Ah’s love story. Eun-Gyeol tries to get his parents together in the drama. However, it only happens by the end. Although viewers get to see Eun-Gyeol’s interactions with Eun-Yu (Seol In-Ah), they don’t witness much of Yi Chan and Cheong-Ah’s romance.
The new photos show one of the many classic scenes found in K-dramas. It is the forceful blind date without the girlfriend’s knowledge. While this is a prevalent scene in many popular dramas, the scene between Yi Chan and Cheong-Ah makes it even more special, considering their story and the couple’s popularity.
In the photo, Yi Chan is set up on a group blind date along with his friends. The setting is probably after his accident where he goes deaf. The two probably enroll in college together as the photos showcase how their couple days would be like. One photo shows him happily and conversing with the women on the opposite end of the table.
However, Cheong-Ah somehow gets wind of the couple date and reaches the location to observe Yi Chan chatting. As soon as the latter finds out, he becomes shock, as evident from another photo. Cheong-Ah keeps looking at him with stern eyes as he gets up from the chair and signals a desperate apology towards her.
